Charity 2020 | YMCA Tri-Cities

YMCA LogoYMCA Tri-Cities’ Mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Character Development has been part of the YMCA for over 150 years and is a key method for accomplishing their mission and at the heart of what they do at the YMCA.

The character values that are incorporated include:

  • Caring: love; putting others before yourself
  • Honesty: integrity; to tell the truth
  • Respect: regard; to treat others as you would have them treat you
  • Responsibility: duty; to what you should

YMCA is a diverse and inclusive organization open to all without regard to ability, race, gender, or religion. They serve over 8,000 local youth and families each year and award thousands of dollars in financial assistance to families who cannot afford to pay the full cost of program fees.

Youth Development – At the Y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Healthy Living – YMCA believes that sports, fun and exploring new interests aren’t just for the participants, but the whole family. Along with improving health, whenever teamwork is involved, there’s the added benefit of being connected to others.

Social Responsibility – Giving back and providing support to neighbors. The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a nonprofit. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that they are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.

As the Tri-Cities leading nonprofit organization for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Cities relies on public support to provide exceptional programs, services, and outreach to our local community. They work to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the community’s health and well-being and give back and support our neighbors.  In partnering with YMCA, funds raised at the 2018 Leprechaun Limbo will help make a meaningful and lasting impact in our community.
