Leprechaun Limbo 2014 is pleased to present a check in the amount of $2,200 to Ignite Youth Mentoring. The funds were raised at the Leprechaun Limbo Mother-Son Night Out event held on March 8, 2014 at Southridge Sports and Events Complex.

The Leprechaun Limbo’s target audience is mothers and sons.

The annual event is put on by local business owners Jane Winslow of WinSome, Inc. and Chandra Christenson of Simplified Celebrations. The event is designed in such a way as to promote bonding and shared experiences creating happy memories—every activity is for mothers and sons to do together. Each sponsor brings an activity for attendees. The 2014 event boasted dinner, a dance featuring a fun and interactive DJ, a basketball shoot, hockey “chuck-a-puck,” video game challenges, game booths, and more. Funds raised for Ignite Youth Mentoring came from raffle tickets sold, VIP table sales, and other activities. Boys ranged in age from 4 to 14 years old.

Each year, a local charitable organization that supports family values and serves boys and/or families is chosen to benefit from the event. Ignite Youth Mentoring is a faith-based organization determined to provide positive, safe, and encouraging adults to kids in need of quality role models. Ignite has built a strong mentorship program to give kids positive adults as role models—to inspire them and help them make good choices.

The Mother-Son Night Out

The Leprechaun Limbo was born out of a need to have entertaining, special bonding events for mothers and their boys. Chandra Christenson, owner of Simplified Celebrations and mother of 2 young boys, along with Jane Winslow, owner of WinSome, Inc. and mother of a young teen, invested their time, skills, and networking abilities to create the community event. The Leprechaun Limbo is the only event of it’s kind for mothers and boys in the region. Planning for ext year’s event is underway and will be held March 7, 2015, again at Southridge Sports and Events Complex.
